Kiwi


Kiwifruit, aka Chinese gooseberry, is native to Northern China and arrived in Newzealand in the early 20th century. Its scientific name is ‘Actinidia deliciosa’. Technically considered a berry, this fruit in high in nutrients and low in calories. The Delicate, tart, sweet and complex in flavor kiwi is delightfully refreshing when eaten. It also serves as a colorful garnish for a variety of dishes. In India, kiwifruit is cultivated in hilly areas mainly in the north eastern states of sikkim, arunachal pradesh and meghalaya.
